Wedding
Music: Piano and/or Recorder
|
Settings on the Digital Stage
Piano include "concert grand piano," "harpsichord," "organ," "string
orchestra," and "chamber woodwinds."
In all, the keyboard authentically replicates over 100 instruments—including
orchestral brass with timpani. It is perfect for the Wedding March
and other fanfares!
Having an outdoor
wedding? The
Digital Stage Piano
can be set up anywhere electricity is available.
Regular acoustic
Piano is
also suitable for wedding music or
recorder
selections with piano, organ, or harpsichord accompaniment.
16th- and 17th-century recorder
music
is especially appropriate for Renaissance-style weddings. Most
recorder music is performed on soprano or alto, although
the tenor recorder is sometimes used as a solo instrument.

Receptions
and Parties:
Indoors and Outdoors
|
Piano
and/or recorder music
are lovely for receptions and parties—indoors and outdoors. The
Digital Stage
Piano may be used outdoors in a patio or garden setting.
Kay offers a variety of
repertoire from classical piano repertoire to Broadway musicals,
wedding music, songs, George Winston and other piano improvisations,
orchestral transcriptions, Christmas holiday music, and contemporary
Christian music. Requests are also welcome.
Especially for
outdoor parties—Irish, Scottish, and English songs and dances on the
recorder are bright and lively. The sound carries well on soprano
instruments, although a microphone is available.

The Roland
Digital Stage
Piano
is a full-size, 88-key
keyboard. It is available for performance on all occasions. The
default piano setting closely replicates the sound of a 9-foot concert grand piano. A
beautiful sound! The keyboard also has settings for electric
piano, organ, and harpsichord.
The full-size
keyboard allows for the performance of all solo piano literature. Volume
control allows for setting the music to either concert level or as
background dinner music.
|
Use of CD (iPod) Background
|
A special feature of Kay's performances on
recorder
is the use of recorded backgrounds. Professional accompaniments
from CD's (on iPod) include
harpsichord and cello, lute, orchestra, piano, and traditional Irish
instruments.
The benefit of performing with
CD (iPod) accompaniment is that a single musician can fill a
room with the sound of a "trio" or "orchestra." Recorder sounds beautiful in
combination with many other historic and modern instruments.
The iPod is played through a
Wadia iTransport unit and Yamaha self-powered speaker to provide a
high-quality sound system.

Other musicians
will be included as available and upon request:
American
Recorder Society, Redding Chapter George & Anwyn Leverett, Celtic Harp Francis Mangels, Saxon Harp and Guitar
